(Intersecting Hearts, Aoyama-kun is Targeted)

12 "Slime and Slime Again" 2005-05-14
At the cherry tree, Ichigo wonders if Aoyama knows it's really her. As she jumps away crying, she says that she's a Mew Mew.
The next morning, Ichigo doesn't eat much of her breakfast, making her parents insanely worried. They think she's sick, or that she has a demon inside of her. At school, Ichigo decides to pretend she doesn't know anything. A butterfly floats by, and she acts like a cat trying to catch it. She notes that most of her cat antics happen when Aoyama's around. At the end of the day, Ichigo wishes she could tell Aoyama good luck at his next kendo tournament. When she leaves, Kishu appears and watches Aoayama walk away.
At the Cafe, Mint and Pudding wonder why Ichigo's depressed. Pudding tries a machine to make her smile, but it just makes her more depressed. Ichigo walks away, and Lettuce and Zakuro say that they'll support her, to which Mint and Lettuce agree.
At a kendo match, Aoyama's many female followers cheer him on. After the match, Aoyama's coach notes that something's on his mind. Aoyama is slient, and the coach tells him to calm his nerves because the tournament is coming up. The Cafe is closing, and Ichigo is so spaced out that she's been drying the same table for a half hour. Someone walks into the Cafe, and Lettuce says that they're closed. It's Aoyama, he's looking for Ichigo, and Ichigo decides the best course of action is to hide under a table. Pudding almost blows her cover, but Aoyama doesn't notice and leaves.
That night, Kishu watches the city, and scoffs at the humans. He wonders why Ichigo protects them, and why she's falling for Aoyama. He dives down to a sewer, and sends a parasite alien into the water, creating a Chimera Animal to kill Aoyama while Ichigo watches.
The morning of the tournament, Ichigo finally decides that she will go and cheer him on. She runs to the school, and gets there just as his match ends. She decides to leave, but Aoyama chases after her, calling out her name. She finally stops when he calls her by her first name, but won't answer his questions. He grabs her and tries to ask her a question, but Ichigo runs again. Suddenly, the slime Chimera Animal attacks Aoyama, binding him. Ichigo tries to save him, but he tells her to run away. Ichigo is knocked back, and says that she can't run away if he's in danger. She transforms and goes to fight the Chimera Animal. Aoyama is trapped inside of the slime. Kishu says that he'll tear Aoyama apart in front of Ichigo. She tries to attack the slime, but after it falls apart, it reforms again. Aoyama is trapped again, and Ichigo yells at Kishu to stop. He'll stop on one condition, which is if Ichigo will be his. Kishu tries to kiss Ichigo again, but she pushes him away, and breaks free, diving into the slime where Aoyama is trapped. Grabbing his hand, Ichigo starts glowing. Kishu sends the slime to attack again, but Ichigo's weapon puts a shield around her. This time when she attacks, she destroys the Chimera Animal. Ichigo says that Kishu is next, but he teleports away, saying that he still won't give up on getting Ichigo. Aoyama wakes up, and apologizes to Mew Ichigo, saying that she looks like a girl he knows. Ichigo runs out, and pretends to be knocked out. Later that day, Ichigo congratulates Aoyama on his victory. He thanks her for coming, and Ichigo thinks he'll kiss her, but he ties a bell collar around her neck, so she won't run away anymore.
Kishu sits on top of a building recalling Deep Blue's disappointment in him. Deep Blue said that he put a new plan into action. As Kishu thinks, a voice calls out to him. It's another alien named Tart, along with yet another named Pie, and they've come to help Kishu.

This episode had a lot of pointless cuts in it, and a lot of stupid SDAs too. Dren uses the "Romeo" nickname waaay too much. It had a good transformation, showing only Ichigo transforming with no added scenes, and everything was happy-dandy...
And then Tarb showed up. *shudders*

A pretty meh episode all around. Lots of pointless cuts, bizarre dialogue, and all that jazz. Tarb's voice sounds like... I dunno, but it sounds weird. Hearing it makes me think of a pig.

Script was screwed because 4Kids decided to ignore the fact that episode 12 ever happened, and added things about the TV show into this episode. Originally, Ichigo was worried about Aoyama seeing her at the tree, now it's Zoey worrying that Mark saw her on TV.

We meet Tart and Pie, or should I day, Tarb and Sardon in this episode. Sardon only laughed, and he has a nice deep voice. Let's hope it's a good speaking voice too. Now Tarb...in the original, Tart has a cute little kid voice, kinda like a boy version of Pudding without the 'na no da' at the end of every sentence. Tarb sounds like an insane maniac. Tarb's voice takes the place of my least favorite voice now.

(36 seconds) Mew Ichigo running away from Aoyama is cut, because that happened in episode 12, and in the dub world, episode 12 never happened.

4Kids really likes moving Kishu scenes around, because they moved HALF of Kishu's floating over the city scene to the beginning of the episode. And, instead of Kishu thinking about Ichigo jumping into the poisoned cherry blossom tree, Dren's thinking about Zoey and Mark being together, showing a scene from episode 1. There's also some signs that were de-kana'd here.

(2 seconds) Ichigo placing her bowl of rice down is cut.

Ichigo's father's chopsticks are edited into a spoon. It should've been a spork, cause sporks are that much cooler.

Actually, the part cut from above with Ichigo sitting with her eyes closed is stuck here, and then stuck in again after the flashback. The flashback itself didn't appear in the original, because it's flashing back to episode 11 when Ichigo was on TV.

(4 seconds) Ichigo staring as her parents carry on and on about Ichigo not eating is cut short.

(3 seconds) The panning across the school from above is cut short as well.

The random boy asking to copy Aoyama's English homework is changed to a random boy talking to Mark about the Mew Mews on TV last night, and wishing him luck in the tournament.

(1 second) Pointless snippet. Ichigo walked 9 steps in the original before hitting herself in the head, while in the dub Zoey takes 8 steps.

YES, I COUNTED THE STEPS.

(56 seconds) *gives this cut the ribbon for Longest Cut*

All of the chibi scenes Ichigo acting as a cat as Aoyama walks by every time, then later in the day Aoyama walking with friends and Ichigo looking at him from above and wishing she could speak to him is all cut.

(12 seconds) Pudding using her weird smiling contraption on Ichigo, and then Ichigo becoming even more gloomy is cut. I wish they'd stop cutting the cute stuff.

(42 seconds) Aoyama's coach talking to him about noticing that Aoyama wasn't attacking like normal, telling him to prepare for the tournament, and then Aoyama walking down the street thinking about Ichigo is allll cut.

(2 seconds) Aoyama bowing before he leaves is cut. We can't have other cultures implanted into the minds of children, after all!

The sign for the kendo championships is de-kana'd and retexted.

(4 seconds) Ichigo running to the school is cut short.

(1 second) Another snippet involving Ichigo taking less steps than in the original. This time it's at the kendo tournament.

The kana is erased from Aoyama's kendo uniform.

In the dub, all Mark does to make Zoey stop is call out her name louder. It's a lot more obvious why she stops in the original. Explaination time.

For the past 12 episodes, Aoyama has always called Ichigo "Momomiya-san" He's being polite and stuff, because they're not close enough to call each other by their first names. When Aoyama's chasing Ichigo, he calls out "Momoniya-san!" at first, and the time before she stops, he yells "ICHIGO!" making her stop out of surprise of him calling her by her first name. It's a Japanese culture thing, so you can't call it an alteration because there's really no English equivalent.

"If I don't mewtate, Mark's a goner for sure!"

Double points for the mew pun and the valley girl speech.

(7 seconds and 3 seconds) Beginning and end of Ichigo's transformation. I haven't had a box like this in a loooong time...But they inserted the mini-rap, which cancels out my happiness.

"We are talking all slime, all the time!"

This one's for the reference to the title and the rhyming. What's with Dren and rhyming?

(15 seconds) Kishu grabbing Ichigo and then trying to kiss her is cut. They're really killing the Ichigo/Kishu romance hints here.

"What kind of chick trick is that?"

Ichigo nodding while she's talking to Mark after the fight is cut out, so she doesn't move her head.
