(The Final Member, The Illusory Lone Wolf)

10 "Hollywood Mew Mew" 2005-04-30
It's nighttime, and a couple is walking across a bridge when a Chimera Animal jumps to attack them. Suddenly, a bright purple whip attacks the monster, reverting it to a normal fish. The couple looks up to a girl standing on a light pole. She jumps away, and it seemed like Kishu had been watching her...
The next day, a girl is shown praying at a church. The scene moves to Cafe Mew Mew, where Lettuce rushes in with a newspaper featuring the mysterious girl. The girls try to figure out which one of them it is, Pudding proves it's none of them, and figure that it's the fifth Mew Mew. When Mint walks in and sees the picture, she's surprised, but acts like she doesn't know who it is. Backing up, she ends up dropping her bag, which had a book in it. She quickly picks it up, and won't show it to anyone, but Pudding takes it away. It's an idol photo book, and Pudding cuts out a picture of the girl inside. It matches up perfectly with the picture in the newspaper. The model Zakuro Fujiwara is the fifth Mew Mew, and Mint seems obsessed over the girl. Ryou commands the girls to attend an audition that Zakuro will be present at.
That night, a woman is attacked by a bat Chimera Animal. Zakuro attacks and destroys the monster, and jumps away. Deep Blue asks Kishu about the fifth member, and Kishu says he has a plan ready.
At the audition, the girls wait for the audition to start. Ichico dreams about being a star, including what Aoyama would think. The judges walk in, along with Zakuro as a special guest. Soon it's Mint's turn for the audition, and as she prepare to start, Pudding shows up and tries some of her tricks, like breathing fire all over the place. The girls try to catch her, but Pudding keeps running away. Finally, the director stands up and yells at the girls...in English, and the audition is cancelled. Ichigo and Lettuce insist that they and Pudding will leave, and have the rest do the audition. Zakuro stands up and apologizes to the director (in English) as the girls watch and admire her. The director asks her to dance, and she agrees. After she finishes, Mint runs out and asks Zakuro if she has a mark on her body. Zakuro ignores her and walks away.
Later that day, the girls are back at the cafe, and Pudding apologizes to Mint. They wonder if Zakuro really is the fifth member.
That night, Masha alerts Ichigo that the fifth member is in danger. The girls transform and head to the church where Ryou told them to go to. THey run in and see Zakuro praying in the church. Her cross necklace shines, as Masha alerts to Chimera Animals attack. Many crows fly in and attack the girls, along with Kishu and a larger crow Chimera Animal. Kishu's plan is to kill Zakuro, and then the other Mew Mews. He sends the birds to attack, and Zakuro transforms. The light from her transformation causes the smaller crows to revert. Kishu and the large crow try to attack her, but she dodges all of the attacks. Attacking with Ribbon Zakuro Spear, she defeats the large Chimera Animal. The girls are very impressed, and Mint calls her the fifth member. Zakuro says she has no intention to join, and that she doesn't need any friends. Mint latches onto Zakuro, but is pushed away. Zakuro calls the girls annoying, and she leaves.

Springtime for Hitler and Germany~...Deutschland is happy and gay~
*gets out of The Producers and into Tokyo Mew Mew* This episode fared a little better than the other character intro episodes. So, so many alterations though. I don't understand why they had to change Zakuro's birthday and stuff. And the decrossing...we'll be seeing a lot of that in future episodes!

Not a bad episode, really... Lots of alterations, but stupid dialogue was kept down. I don't have much to say. Changing Zakuro's measurements was pointless, but it's not like it makes a big deal. Kisshu is now Mother Goose. Or maybe Mother Blackbird. God, I'm so witty.
Just a note to all you "4KIDS ARE EVIL BAKAS WAAAAAAAAA" people: Don't blame them for the decrossing. Conservative Christian parents go psycho when they see religious things, usually thinking that it is sacrilegious. Some even think Pokemon is Satanic.
And another note aimed at the "EW PURPLE DAGGER IT'S A WHIP" Ribbon Zakuro Spear doesn't resemble a spear at all. OH SNAP. SCORE ONE FOR THE ANUBI.

Script was on, and Dren had the biggest SDAs. I mean, three in one episode? And in one scene at that?

Renee actually keeps Zakuro's personality and is quite cold to the others. She seems to have gained some sarcasm along the way as well.

The director Junyano Koshiba, an American, is changed to Monsieur Lapain, a French guy. So insted of him and Zakuro coversing in English, they converse in French.

Ribbon Zakuro Spear is unnamed as of this episode.

(3 seconds) Kishu speaking after Zakuro defeats the fish Chimera Animal is cut.

(11 seconds) Zakuro praying at the church is cut.

The newspaper that Lettuce brings in is de-kana'd

(4 seconds) Ichigo wondering about how Aoyama would react to her being a Mew Mew was cut.

(10 seconds) Ichigo and Lettuce discussing the picture is cut.

Zakuro's photobook gets de-kana'd and retexted.

Zakuro's birthday, height, and weight were completely changed.

Original
Birthday: September 6th (Virgo)
Height: 172cm (about 5'8")
Weight: 49kg (about 108lbs)

Dub
Birthday: December 3rd (Sagittarius)
Height: 6'1" (about 185cm)
Weight: 130lbs (about 60kg)

"She'll have Mew Mew style AND she'll have Mew Mew grace!"

But will her power be in your face?

In the original, Mint was moving her hands while speaking to Keiichiro and Ryou. The dub snips the moving out.

They moved the Kishu/Deep Blue scene to before the scene with the bat attacking the lady.

The sign at the audition gets de-kana'd and retexted. Also, the audition was originally for a joint musical between Japan and America. The dub changes it to some show called The Real Talent.

Zakuro's necklace gets decrossed and turned into a stick, and stays decrossed for the entire episode. I do have to say they did a good job of keeping it decrossed.

Mmmm, de-crossing!

Mint's mark on her back is erased.

(10 seconds) Pudding spinning plates and Ichigo and Lettucd yelling at her is cut.

"Sir, remember your therapy. Think of a calm, blue lake!"

So...he was in for anger management now? And he's on medication? Ehhh?

The panning across the disppointed girls is moved to after Ichigo and Lettuce say that they'll leave. And also this scene is repeated after the commercial break. WT6F?

(10 seconds) Zakuro explaining to the other judge what Mr. Koshiba asked her to do is cut.

(6 seconds) More black and white still frames of Zakuro and a shocked Mint were cut.

(4 seconds) Mint's face in the cafe window was cut.

In the original, Ryou and Keiichiro nodded their heads after Lettuce spoke. The dub snippets this out.

We get the Animal Instinct song with mini-rap added today. Hopefully we'll get the Supernatural one again after Zakuro joins.

The original had Masha tell Ichigo that the fifth member was in danger. The dub has Mini-Mew tell Zoey that it's a normal Predacite alert.

(2 seconds) A shot of a window at the church.

(9 seconds) A pan across the girls, a close up on Zakuro's necklace and then Mint's face is cut.

The cross on top of the church is erased.

The large cross in the church (the one that Kishu stands on) has been changed to a large stick

What religion has a popsicle stick as it's God?

Originally, Kishu wanted to kill Zakuro in front of the other Mew Mews. The dub makes it so that Dren had Renee join with him and make her kill the others, but it ends up to be a trap set by Renee.

"Sing a song of sixpence, pocket full of rye. Four little Mew Mews baked in a pie!"

It'd work but...those birds are CROWS!

"The evil little Mew Mew's weak like a flower, so down came the blackbirds to give her more power!"

They're CROWS!!

(6 seconds) The beginning of Zakuro's transformation. Not only is it the DNA, but the 1 second snippet of her mouth moving (for the word metamorphosis) is cut. Also, the part where she jumps is sped up.

"I'm sure a girl like you wouldn't want to get crow's feet!"

Stop with the bird puns, please. They're just as bad as mew puns.

The Zakuro Crosswhip also gets decrossed, and the part with the spiffy zooming in is sped up.

A "To Be Continued" is added at the end of the episode.
